In rеcеnt yеars, rеmotе work has takеn thе profеssional world by storm. What was oncе considеrеd a pеrk or a rarе еxcеption has bеcomе a widеsprеad and oftеn prеfеrrеd modе of work for many еmployееs. Howеvеr, with this shift comеs a battlе of productivity myths, as rеmotе work challеngеs thе long-hеld assumptions about whеrе and how work should bе donе. In this articlе, wе will еxplorе thе clash bеtwееn rеmotе work and traditional officе еnvironmеnts, dеbunking common myths and shеdding light on thе rеal factors that impact productivity in both sеttings.

Myth 1: Rеmotе Workеrs Arе Lеss Productivе

Onе of thе most pеrsistеnt myths surrounding rеmotе work is thе bеliеf that еmployееs working from homе arе lеss productivе than thеir in-officе countеrparts. This myth oftеn stеms from concеrns about distractions at homе, thе lack of supеrvision, and thе tеmptation to slack off.

Rеality: Numеrous studiеs havе dеbunkеd this myth, showing that rеmotе workеrs can bе just as, if not morе, productivе than thеir officе-bound pееrs. Rеmotе workеrs oftеn rеport incrеasеd productivity duе to fеwеr distractions, rеducеd commutе timе, and thе ability to work during thеir most productivе hours.

Myth 2: In-Pеrson Supеrvision Is Nеcеssary for Еfficiеncy

Anothеr common misconcеption is that еmployееs nееd in-pеrson supеrvision to еnsurе thеy arе working еfficiеntly. Thе bеliеf is that without physical ovеrsight, еmployееs may not stay on task or mееt dеadlinеs.

Rеality: Supеrvision can takе various forms, and modеrn tеchnology allows for еffеctivе rеmotе managеmеnt. Tools likе projеct managеmеnt softwarе, rеgular chеck-ins via vidеo confеrеncing, and clеar pеrformancе mеtrics can hеlp supеrvisors monitor progrеss and providе guidancе whеn nееdеd. In fact, somе studiеs suggеst that rеmotе workеrs may еvеn fееl morе еmpowеrеd and motivatеd to complеtе tasks indеpеndеntly.

Myth 3: Officе Hours Еqual Productivity

Thе traditional 9-to-5 officе schеdulе has long bееn associatеd with productivity. Thе assumption is that еmployееs arе most еffеctivе whеn thеy adhеrе to a strict daily routinе and collaboratе in pеrson during sеt hours.

Rеality: Rеmotе work challеngеs thе notion that productivity is tiеd to spеcific hours. Many еmployееs find that thеy arе morе productivе whеn thеy havе flеxibility in thеir work hours. Rеmotе work allows individuals to tailor thеir schеdulеs to thеir natural rhythms and pеrsonal rеsponsibilitiеs, rеsulting in improvеd еfficiеncy and work-lifе balancе.

Myth 4: Crеativity Thrivеs in Officе Еnvironmеnts

Thеrе is a bеliеf that officе еnvironmеnts fostеr crеativity through spontanеous intеractions, brainstorming sеssions, and facе-to-facе collaboration.

Rеality: Whilе officе еnvironmеnts can indееd promotе crеativity for somе, rеmotе workеrs havе thеir own sеt of tools and stratеgiеs for fostеring innovation. Virtual brainstorming sеssions, collaborativе onlinе platforms, and asynchronous communication can spark crеativity in rеmotе tеams. Furthеrmorе, rеmotе workеrs may find that thеy havе morе control ovеr thеir workspacеs and can crеatе еnvironmеnts conducivе to crеativе thinking.

Myth 5: Rеmotе Work Lеads to Isolation and Lonеlinеss

Onе concеrn with rеmotе work is thе potеntial for еmployееs to fееl isolatеd and lonеly duе to thе lack of in-pеrson social intеractions.

Rеality: Whilе isolation can bе a challеngе in rеmotе work, it is not an inhеrеnt drawback. Many rеmotе workеrs activеly sееk and find ways to connеct with thеir collеaguеs through virtual coffее chats, tеam-building activitiеs, and onlinе forums. In fact, rеmotе tеams oftеn put morе еffort into crеating a supportivе and inclusivе work culturе to combat fееlings of isolation.

Myth 6: Rеmotе Work Is Only Suitablе for Cеrtain Job Rolеs

Thеrе is a misconcеption that rеmotе work is only fеasiblе for spеcific job rolеs, such as softwarе dеvеlopmеnt or frееlancе writing. Somе bеliеvе that jobs rеquiring physical prеsеncе, likе manufacturing or hеalthcarе, cannot bе donе rеmotеly.

Rеality: Advancеs in tеchnology havе еxpandеd thе possibilitiеs for rеmotе work across a widе rangе of industriеs. Whilе cеrtain rolеs may rеquirе physical prеsеncе, many aspеcts of jobs can bе pеrformеd rеmotеly. For еxamplе, administrativе tasks, projеct managеmеnt, customеr support, and еvеn cеrtain aspеcts of hеalthcarе can bе conductеd rеmotеly with thе right tools and procеdurеs in placе.

Myth 7: Thе Officе Is thе Only Placе for Еffеctivе Collaboration

Thе bеliеf that еffеctivе collaboration can only occur in a physical officе is a common misconcеption. Somе arguе that rеmotе work hindеrs tеamwork, idеa sharing, and thе dеvеlopmеnt of strong working rеlationships.

Rеality: Rеmotе collaboration tools and platforms havе madе it possiblе for tеams to work togеthеr sеamlеssly, rеgardlеss of physical location. Vidеo confеrеncing, filе sharing, and collaborativе softwarе еnablе rеal-timе communication and projеct collaboration. With thе propеr stratеgiеs and tеchnology, rеmotе tеams can build strong working rеlationships and achiеvе thе samе lеvеl of collaboration as in-officе tеams.

Thе Futurе of Work: A Hybrid Approach

As thе battlе of productivity myths continuеs, it bеcomеs incrеasingly clеar that rеmotе work and traditional officеs еach havе thеir advantagеs and limitations. Thе futurе of work is likеly to involvе a hybrid approach, whеrе organizations offеr еmployееs thе flеxibility to choosе thе work еnvironmеnt that suits thеir nееds bеst.

This hybrid modеl rеcognizеs that productivity is not solеly dеtеrminеd by thе location of work but rathеr by thе alignmеnt of work practicеs with individual prеfеrеncеs and job rеquirеmеnts. As organizations adapt to this еvolving landscapе, thеy will nееd to invеst in tеchnology, providе support for rеmotе еmployееs, and crеatе inclusivе work culturеs that transcеnd physical boundariеs.

In conclusion, thе battlе of productivity myths bеtwееn rеmotе work and traditional officе еnvironmеnts undеrscorеs thе nееd for a nuancеd undеrstanding of how and whеrе work can bе donе еffеctivеly. Whilе both sеttings havе thеir mеrits, it is еssеntial to rеcognizе that productivity is influеncеd by various factors, including thе naturе of thе work, individual prеfеrеncеs, and thе support and rеsourcеs availablе. As wе continuе to navigatе thе еvolving landscapе of work, it is crucial to challеngе thеsе myths and еmbracе thе opportunitiеs that rеmotе work offеrs for еnhancеd productivity and work-lifе intеgration.

In the previous post, we discussed how poor organization of your remote work can lead to burnout and problems with your relationships. Today, we will speak about the common mistakes that people make when they start a freelance job. This is our list of the things to avoid doing if you want to make your freelance adventure a success.

Don’t think that your flat will become a good office in a moment

When we dream about remote work, we often imagine a person cozily resting in bed with a laptop, however, this is not exactly like that. Working the whole day in bed, you will get back pain way faster than happiness. In the office, we have many things that we don’t even notice, however, you will soon understand that your home chair is less comfortable than an office chair and the table is also small. So before you start working, make sure that you have a close (at least small) and well-equipped place where you can focus entirely on your job.

As at home you are the one to choose equipment, reserve some money to invest in a good standing desk and a nice ergonomic chair. These small steps will help you avoid posture problems and save you a lot of energy in the future.

Other things that can make your home office more comfortable are a laptop stand and an external keyboard. These things will help you avoid neck pain as you will look front rather than down while working.

Don’t let your home distract you from work

A woman who starts to work remotely often gets distracted by household chores. Everywhere you start to notice what to clean or remember to cook food. If the man works from home, he will often get distracted by other family members who will require attention.

Here the first thing to remember is that even in the office you get distracted to have a chat with a boss, or your colleague, or grab a cup of coffee. The distractions themselves are natural, what’s important is to keep them limited. For example, you still can clean and cook, or talk to your family member during your regular breaks. Regular breaks are needed anyway to keep your brain working effectively. So as to avoid unnecessary distractions while performing work tasks, try to use noise-canceling headphones.

Don’t make your work calls a priority without discussing

If you share one room with someone in your family who also works remotely, you will have to discuss the schedules of your meetings so as not to distract one another.

Discussing meetings and calls with your family is a good idea anyway. While you would definitely prefer your spouse not to be at your background in pajamas, they also want to feel at home even though you work there. Only empathy and understanding will help you keep a good relationship and stay productive at the same time.

Don’t overwork

Working from home, people mostly start their day on time. They don’t waste time on getting to work and hence tend to start earlier and finish later than they would usually do if they worked in the office. People don’t feel like they have to spend time on the way home and that is why can spend this time still finishing tasks. At the end of the day, remote workers spend more time on tasks than usual.

In addition, remote workers often miss breaks. First, they don’t have colleagues who would call them for a coffee break, and second, they can feel guilty for not finishing tasks as fast as they wanted. Avoiding breaks will do you no good. The brain gets tired, and it becomes hard to focus. In the end, you can get even more problems than tiredness. Skipping breaks can lead to obesity and muscle strain.  The best way to cope with this problem is to create a schedule and train yourself to stick to it. Make a plan of tasks every morning and don’t do more than planned. Don’t forget to plan breaks and physical activity in your schedule. And for sure, don’t work during weekends. The weekend is the weekend no matter whether you work from home or the office.

Don’t try to be always available to colleagues

Of course, it is good to text your colleagues and your boss about your progress and other things. Especially, when you are out of a few people in the company who work remotely it is important to avoid being a ghost who just receives and completes tasks. Chat with colleagues and discuss tasks from time to time – this will help you to create an image of your virtual presence in the team. However, the opposite situation, being totally available, is also not good for your work-life balance. Though you work from home, you don’t have to answer work emails after your work day is officially over. And your colleagues should also learn to respect your privacy.

Finding a work-life balance has never been easy. However, the growth of remote work made it only harder for us to maintain this balance. Experts from a popular dating website say that though many people are happy when they have an interracial match, they soon face problems with building such a relationship. Well, for sure there are more obvious reasons for that, such as the difference in races and cultures, but the burnout caused by remote work is also on the list.

The thing is people from different cultures have different work habits. And if one partner in an interracial couple is more a workaholic than his or her soulmate, he or she is more likely to get burnout working from home. And both burnout and the life-work imbalance are very harmful to any relationship, especially, for such a fragile one as an interracial couple.

Let’s try to find out how to cope with remote work burnout so as to avoid damaging the relationship with those we love.

Remote work burnout is way more common than you think

While it may seem that people who work from home have enough time for rest and shouldn’t experience the same stress and workload as normal workers, the stats say a very different thing. The survey made in the US shows that 69% of those who work from home experience burnout. The main reason for that is that personal life and work are happening at the same time. Having your kids or spouse at home while working doesn’t let you focus on your job entirely, you can get distracted, postpone your work, and this way experience a higher level of stress.

How does it feel when you have remote work burnout?

Most people feel stressed at the idea that they can’t escape work though they don’t have to commute or get ready. Because you have no official lunch breaks, people tend to forget about eating and resting. And in the end, start to work way more than while in the office. Such a person soon starts to sleep less, gets irritated, loses motivation, and starts to experience anxiety.

How to avoid problems while working from home?

Stick to your schedule

A big part of the stress comes from the fact that remote workers don’t have a stable and understandable schedule like office workers. You get distracted with cooking and cleaning. Your family tries to interfere every now and then. There are a few things that you can do to avoid this situation. First, close the door of your room and ask your family to respect that you are busy during work time. Though you are physically at home, in reality, you are doing your job. And any distractions can worsen your productivity. Second, create your work schedule and follow it as if you are in the office. It will help you to avoid procrastination and stress caused by delays.

Take regular breaks

Many successful people say that the ideal time for rest is just before you feel tired. Plan regular breaks in your schedule and never miss them however busy you feel. For some reason, people who work from home feel way guiltier about missing deadlines. They tend to overwork so as to show that they are being overproductive. However, this makes no sense as in the end they will only get exhausted. Regular breaks are not wasting your time; they let you refresh and keep your brain powerful and efficient.

Have a walk

Breathing fresh air and watching nature can have a tremendous effect on your health. Being physically active and being totally out of work and reach for 15 minutes (yes, leave your phone at home or at least turn off all the messengers) can help you stay even more focused and productive after you come back.

Clean up your table

Our brain gets information about our surroundings even if we don’t notice it. Many papers on your table can make you subconsciously more anxious and finally cause burnout. Keep only the papers needed for your current task on the table, and for sure put everything in the drawer when your work day is over.

Take a vacation

When you start to notice that you are too irritated and annoyed, don’t wait until it gets too far. Take a day off or two and have a rest. Forget about work and put your thoughts back in order. While it would be great to have a normal two-week vacation, even a couple of days can help you feel less stressed and get out of your mental cage. During, this small vacation, travel, make short trips, and just do things that are unusual to you. Your brain will get new experiences and you will feel way better soon.

Create your personal reward system

If it is hard for you to stay focused on work, create your own rewards for staying productive and finishing work on time. The treat can be anything, from a nice cake to a yoga class. What’s important is that your brain knows that it is working not in vain. A reward will follow.

Remote freelance work gained popularity during the Corona pandemic when people were on lockdown. Furthermore, many also loved it because of the attraction of the idea of being their boss and scheduling their work time. So what office equipment does one need to efficiently do remote work? Keep reading to learn more

Comfortable Armchair

One thing that comes with freelancing is sitting for several hours behind your PC. It’s like shifting an office to the comfort of your home. Thus using the wrong chair may cause back injuries and joint pain because of the constraints of sitting in a poor position for a long time.

Besides, there are several office chairs that one can choose from, which may make choosing a perfect chair a daunting task. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a suitable chair.

  • Ability to be adjusted: You need an adjustable chair especially when your working surfaces have varying heights. If you’re choosing a fixed seat, then its height should fit you well.
  • The width of the seat: Based on your body structure, you’ll need to pick a seat that you can fit in well. This’ll ensure your waist is not pressed by the armrest, which is often common if one is using a small seat.
  • The material used: You should go for a durable material, one that’s easy to clean and breathable.
  • Back support: Ensure the seat has enough support that carries your weight for a long time.

Access to electricity 24/7

Electricity is the backbone of remote work and if it’s not consistent it can paralyze everything. Therefore, you need reliable electricity that’s available 24/7. This will ensure you perform your client’s tasks smoothly and within the stipulated time.

Fortunately, some laptops like MacBook can be helpful in case of a power outage as it can run for about 10 hours without recharging. However, this will only be possible if your WiFi router stores power for a long time. Thus you can access a suitable battery batch pack as a backup in case of a power outage or when you’re out in a place with no electricity.

Lightweight Laptop

Most of the activity you’ll be doing in freelancing will need a PC. Hence you need a good lightweight PC to efficiently do various tasks. Though, based on the type of activity you’re doing, you’ll need different PCs of various specifications. For example for writing work, you’ll need a laptop with moderate RAM, while for Programming or photo/Video editing you’ll need a laptop with a big RAM.

Mobile WiFi hub

Internet connection is vital for the efficient performance of remote work. The first choice is always public WiFi although it has a fair share of security threats and slow connection. Besides, hotels’ WiFi may also be slow because of overcrowding.

Therefore, you’ll need a mobile WiFi hub that can allow you to work anywhere. Also, it offers a fast connection and it’s secure. Here are a few things to note in your choice of WiFi hub.

  • It should have a good range of transmission and connect several gadgets.
  • The battery capacity should be sufficient.

Noise-canceling headphone

This type of headphone is important in remote work. It’s designed to eliminate background noise to allow clear hearing of what’s playing.  They’re useful in case you’re working where there’s background noise like in a hotel or at home when children are playing.

Portable Wireless printer

Occasionally, you may need to have a physical document to present to your client. The normal route would be to seek printing services which will take time. Therefore, you’ll need a portable printing machine that can serve you in any working location of your choice.

Portable accumulator

An emergency can happen and occasionally you can experience blackouts. Sometimes in your desire to work remotely, you may choose a remote location that doesn’t have a constant electricity supply. For this reason, you need an accumulator which is an advanced battery pack that can store enough charge to power your gadgets for ample time.

Conclusion

To sum it up, various gadgets are needed for efficient remote work. Their choice will be best determined by the kind of task you’re performing and your desired objectives. However, all these gadgets can be defective at one point. Ensure you’ve smooth remote work by accessing proficient repair service in Brooklyn – https://repairsbay.com/

Finally, you have the option to work from home. Maybe it’s because of your new job’s structure or some other reasons. Whatever the case may be, you’ve landed an opportunity that so many working parents desire; no more commuting or office interruptions. It’s now you, a cosy home office, and the chance to spend more time with your children.

Remote employment is a favourite decision for many working parents and the companies that employ them to improve productivity, and availability. The advantages of remote work, both for the firm and the individual, are numerous and obvious.

More parents are opting for work-from-home options instead of commuting, as working from home allows many parents to experience the flexibility to be available to their young children while also earning a living.

However, those advantages are matched by an equal amount of drawbacks.

Having your house serve as your workplace might be problematic, especially if your child is there during working hours. Working while your kids are around may be challenging but it is possible to cope. So if you feel nervous just thinking about how to deal with your kids while balancing office work, you might want to take a look at these suggestions that sheds light on how to cope.

Make a Schedule

It’s quite important to plan your day. Planning has proven to be a good way to achieve productive results. So, prioritise making a schedule, as it’s one way to adapt to working remotely with kids around.

Planning often involves detailing what you’ll do each day, particularly activities your kids can engage in while you’re busy with work. These activities can range from scribbling, colouring, reading, or solving some questions depending on your children’s age.

You can allocate some set hours for each activity so that you don’t overspend on a particular activity, wisely accomplishing each goal while the kids are busy.

When you work smart, you’ll be more productive.

Utilise Naptimes

While working from home, make good use of your kids’ naptime to be efficient. When your children nap, whether they nap for an hour or more, you want to use this time to accomplish assignments that demand your full focus and attention.

While the kids are asleep, you’ll be free of noises such as crying or loud media sound in the background. So it’s best to arrange jobs that demand silence or concentration for this time.

What if my kids have outgrown naptime?

Well, consider moving such tasks to other quiet times, such as early mornings before they wake up, or at night after they’ve gone to bed.

Set Boundaries

If you don’t have an office space in your house yet, it’s time you made one. It could be a place with doors or closed walls. This way, you can easily draw a line between work and home, letting your children realise that the office is solely for work.

Take Breaks

Working from home does not imply constant toil. You should take a break occasionally. During this break, make time for your kids. Spend quality time doing what they like to do. Do what makes them happy, and let them have fun with you.  When you spend time with your child, you can help them stay happy and they will probably free you of any disturbance for at least a few hours.

Bribe Your Kids

When nothing else works, and you are brainstorming on what you can do, try bribing the kids. Bribe your children with a delicious dessert or something that can catch their attention in exchange for the time you need to finish your work. Bribery, however, should only be used in extremely rare and extreme circumstances. So don’t always resort to bribery.

Entertain the Kids

Prepare some toys your children can play with, therefore keeping them busy. Alternatively, you can set up playdates, or movie time for them while you work.  If your kids are occupied with something that interests them, be it toys, cartoons, or movies, you’ll be able to concentrate more on work without interruptions. If you have more space in the house, you can also set up a play centre for them. So while you’re in your office space, they’ll be in their play space, giving them the feeling of having a place to do their things.

In their make-do space, you can also prepare a snacking area, so they can easily grab something to munch on when need be.

Use Some Help

Ask other family members for assistance. You may ask your partner to help keep the children busy. Or ask your relatives or friends for help. Can someone help you keep an eye on them? Have a chat with the kids, and tell them jokes or something, thereby catching their attention as they engage in one activity or the other?

Help from others can really help you get more work done.

Don’t be hard on your kids. Remember,  it takes time to adapt. When you stick to a schedule and routine, your children will gradually fit in and you’ll find it easy to work at home with kids around.

The daily routine of life can become boring over time. And you won’t be the first to feel this way. Many people across the globe have decided to travel the world despite their circumstances. It may surprise you that many of these people are married and single parents. Bored with the life cycle, they have decided to adjust their way of life to accommodate adventure. Of course, single people find it easier than individuals with children. However, many families have taken the bold step. As a mother, either a single parent or otherwise, you need a solid plan to support yourself and your family when travelling. Here are the top things to keep in mind and use as you begin your adventure.

Plan

Planning is essential before travelling the world with your kids while you also have to work remotely. If your goal is to go on vacation, you don’t need too much. You can simply schedule a period to take a break, possibly when the kids are on vacation. A vacation of this sort is temporary and not so demanding. But if your goal is to get away from the conventional cycle of life and travel to a couple of regions across the world, you need to plan adequately.  You must consider your job, the education of the kids, the impact of relocation, and many more.  It’s encouraged that you travel around with young kids that only need elementary education. Since this type of vacation can span years, you also need to pay attention to budget, how to work, and other essential things such as housing.

Create a Budget

Many travelling parents can move from about three locations within two years. While this is not a standard, it’s common, and if that is your idea, then pay attention to this part. Create a budget based on where you want to travel to. Learn about the cost of living at such a location, then draw out a plan of what you’ll need each month. It’s not just about creating the budget. Sticking to it is equally important. Prepare to set out an allowance for insurance. Insurance is important to help you deal with emergencies. Good enough, many companies like Generali where you can find promo codes and get good travel insurance. You can use these types of good packages and deals to prepare for emergencies.

If you plan to visit a third-world country or place with a significantly lower economy than yours, then the financial burden will be more bearable. Added to creating a realistic budget, keep emergency options such as loan channels which are available to help you cope as necessary. For example, by using promo codes from Vivus you can receive discount coupons and get a loan with the best conditions.  This will help you keep your goal alive and enjoy the life you desire. Of course, you have to pay back, but the plan of most loans is flexible enough to help repay you over a long period. Hence, it won’t be a burden on you or impede your living.

Keep the Kids’ Social Welfare and Education in Mind

Plan for the education and social lives of your kids. Since they are most likely young, interaction is crucial for them. At every destination, seek out homeschool and child-friendly areas for your children. The kids will spend most of their time with you; regardless, they need to mix with their peers and enjoy the friendly moments. You can also purchase a variety of toys before you embark on the journey. According to Promo-codes there are loads of online stores that sell toys and other children’s necessities at affordable prices.

Decide on how you want your children to be educated. You can consider schools where you choose to settle or opt for online education. As you seek to use available resources, get familiar with good educational programs on the Internet or anywhere you can get the resources you need.  When you do this, you supplement whatever arrangement you have in place.  It also helps you keep a tab on the kids to ensure they are not behind.

Consider Internet

As you choose where you’d live at your new destination, always consider internet access. Remote workers need excellent internet access. So make sure the internet will be available at your potential location before moving. This will help you avoid situations whereby you will have to go the extra mile to get your work done or, worst still, find it almost impossible to keep working.

Ease into the Lifestyle

Don’t force yourself to adapt fast. Take things slow and gradually get used to your new life. To be realistic, travelling around is not solely a vacation. It’s a combination of holiday and work. So you must maintain a good balance. As much as you want to enjoy your time at a location, don’t neglect the work that supports you. Of course, you may not need much, yet you must still have an income stream. You can set some days aside to work and use other days as you please.

Don’t hesitate

If you want to change your cycle of life and get the best out of it, then don’t hesitate to take the bold step. Take a deep breath, plan, and go for it. You can combine travel with work – enjoying your best life ever.

More and more young mothers are trying to be engaged in maternity not only a child. Someone continues to work remotely for a former employer, someone turns his hobby into a business, someone’s activity grows out of motherhood.

Every woman sooner or later faces the choice of how to combine work and family. In this situation, the child often becomes either a reason or an excuse not to do something. He is constantly with his mother, demanding a lot of attention, distracting, crying… How is it possible to still work? I am of the opinion that these are excuses. I live by the principle: whoever wants to, will find opportunities. And children here only motivate us additionally, but do not hinder us in any way. I will try to show you an example of my own.

At one time I was a sales manager. Oh, those cold calls! I was endlessly procrastinating, drinking tea, chatting with colleagues, making up excuses not to pick up the phone. Then, being on maternity leave, I decided to help my spouse with his business. He gave me small tasks, and I carried out… with a squeak. I formed the opinion that work was a daily necessary abuse on myself that had to be accepted as a burden of being an adult and an independent person. That’s how I lived my life.

But one day everything changed because I found my business! I fell in love with my work, I wanted to run to business meetings like the best date of my life, the work hours flew by unnoticed. When I first came to the project I had little Jan in my arms, my mother was not there, and my husband was busy with his work. I had to manage everything with my son, help my husband, run the household. I had a lot of family responsibilities and no helpers at all. It would seem, how could I cram work into this busy schedule?

That’s when I figured it out. If you work “through no way”, you look for hundreds of excuses to postpone the moment when you need to start something, call someone, go somewhere. All this affects both your productivity and the development of your professional qualities. If you don’t like your job, you’ll never get results. But if you enjoy your job, if you have fun doing it, you will always find time for it, you will find a way to develop professionally without detriment to your family, and you will combine your work and home life.

Over time, I have formulated a few tips to help young moms adjust their work schedule.

Look for remote work

There are so many opportunities to work remotely now, and it’s a real salvation for moms. “Remote work allows you to earn money and give time to the family. For example, I solve many working questions at the time when two-year-old Aron is playing with his peers in the sandbox.

Maybe at first this work will not bring in a lot of money, but if you like it, you should not give it up because of criticism from relatives. Let’s try to look at things realistically. Who makes millions right away? Everyone starts small. Today your husband ironic about your attempt to sell a teddy bear stitched at your leisure in Instagram, and tomorrow you already own your own factory of soft toys! It would have been a desire and diligence.

Clearly define the working hours

How many hours a day do you spend on work stuff? The fact is that online work has one disadvantage. You have no one to supervise you but yourself. And this often leads to the fact that when you get to the computer, you start “lingering” in social networks or on YouTube, instead of working. Learn to prioritize – is it more important for you now to watch a TV series or to take a step toward your dreams? My workload at the moment is such that I have completely eliminated watching television from my life – I’ll watch it when I retire. In the meantime, I’d rather spend my free time on my kids, my husband, or promoting my favorite cause.

Learn to plan

Planning work tasks helps me organize my schedule. I make myself a list for the day, sift out and move those tasks that can be done later to subsequent days. And then I arrange them by importance and systematically perform, crossing out each of the items. Thus the terrible idea of “so much stuff, I have no time” get 5-10 tasks that, if not distracted by social networks and soap operas, spent less than half a day.

Delegate

When you reach a certain professional level, the ability to delegate comes to the forefront – to delegate your tasks to other people. Many people think that this is impossible, because no one will do the job better than you. But it is necessary to delegate, otherwise you will continue to dig into small tasks, instead of exploring new horizons. Yes, you will have to take helpers and pay them a salary, but in return you will have more time for yourself, for your family, for the development of your business.

This is an absolutely real opportunity to earn, and for single moms it is often the only way to support a child and themselves.

Yes, taking care of the baby, of course, takes the bulk of the time, but active mothers are still looking for ways to fulfill themselves and part-time work on maternity leave is the best option. Work on maternity leave keeps in tone, develops, gives the opportunity “not to sit on the neck.

Achieving results at a remote job rarely any mother wants to return after maternity leave to her previous job. And all because she had the opportunity to assess the convenience of remote work on maternity leave, she was convinced of the reality of making money and, most importantly, she realizes that working remotely, she has much more time for the baby.

Many women dream to realize themselves not to the detriment of their family. You can start just on maternity leave. There are specialties that are not difficult to learn and that do not bring bad money.

Part-time employment on maternity leave can be mastered:

  • Copywriting. Copywriting is a person who writes authoring, unique texts for posting on various Internet resources (websites, blogs, social networks).
  • Rewriting. It differs from copywriting by the fact that it is not writing a unique text (composition). The main difference is that the author is writing a summary of some source texts taken from any website, blogs, etc. Read more about copywriting profession here.
  • You can become a content manager. Content is content: texts, articles, pictures, photos, video, audio and other kinds of information. The essence of the content manager profession is to publish various articles, news, place photos, correct mistakes, SEO promotion.

  • You can become a moderator. A moderator remotely manages the entire process of publication and actively present on forums, chat rooms, news groups, as well as all other Internet projects, which must monitor the content posted by visitors to check their loyalty to the project, including the removal of violations of the rules. a moderator remotely oversees the order on any public and social resources. • Online operator. An online operator is an online consultant on your site. On-line operator answers all the questions of visitors and buyers in real time. The working area of the online operator is a chat room with the visitors. He has to answer the visitors’ questions, tell them about the site, show them where everything is, i.e. to be just like any other consultant in a real store. Read more here
  • Social Media Administrator. This is the person who “cultivates” the group, invites friends, handles its design and promotion, and fills it with news. This person makes sure that the group is visited and interesting. Read more here.

You can learn a lot of things! The main thing is to choose a specialty that does not bind you to a certain work schedule.

Free schedule will give you the opportunity to plan your day, adjusting to the mode of the baby. Well, the benefits of household appliances, husband and grandmother’s help has not been canceled! So combine taking care of the child, the family as a whole, to develop themselves and earn – it is possible. In addition, you will show your child an example, and perhaps he will learn to earn (for their “want”) much earlier than he finishes school))

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, and we don’t even know what could happen in a minute. If only the husband earns in the family, what will happen if he suddenly can’t perform this function? Will his stay-at-home wife be able to help provide for the family?
We all like self-sufficient individuals who are on fire about something, with whom there is always something to talk about besides household issues.
Often there are situations where a woman wants to leave a man, but can not afford it, because she has not worked a day, and now has no idea what she can be and how to become self-sufficient.

So it seems to me that the biggest crime against womanhood is to decide, “that’s it, I’m not going to do anything else, I’m just going to devote myself completely to home and family.”

Each of us has unique talents and purpose, so we need to develop ourselves, to be a self-sufficient person. Then we will be able to build healthy harmonious relationships with others and, thanks to our wholeness, we will be interesting to others.

I wish you to do what you feel like doing, not to try to limit yourself, but to do what really brings pleasure.

Have you tried working remotely? Do you agree with my opinion? Write your impressions in the comments.
